Dress Form

I have been wanting to try my hand at a dress form for quite a while now.  I made this one free hand and cut it out of heavy canvas fabric.  I stitched it on the outside seam and stuffed it slightly with cotton batting.  I then started embellishing!  I put 'her' on a chop stick that I painted white and a wooden spool that I covered in picket fence crackle.  The braided trim at the bottom is from Kim at PDA.  I then added some beaded trim.  This trim is a dark blue so from here I decided on the color scheme.  I love this royal and metallic blue combination with the pearls and rhinestones!  The large blue flowers are handmade.  They are made out of utility fabric, that I cut with a flower punch, painted and assembled.  The arms are made with a royal blue 16 gauge craft wire. Over all I am happy with how this turned out and this is my entry for the Piece by Piece July challenge.

P.s.  This would be perfect for a powder room or bedroom with earrings or jewelry hanging from it.

I love this! Would never have thought to use a thread reel for the neck, or to make my own form. You really are so creative. The positioning of flowers and everything is just perfect.
